tahsine al hassane is a first generation canadian multidisciplinary artist. her work is a push x pull towards critical thought — considering humanity, society, culture, identity, place and our collective states of being. her formal training in design x communications lends to her aesthetic incorporating digital x analogue collage, use of found lens-based imagery, typography, illustration, abstraction, repetition, wordplay x prose to express the resultant feelings of those thoughts in all their complexities. though the work is a form of self-described self-portraiture, she intends for the viewer to see themselves as well as our shared humanity, experiences and purpose in the work she creates.
